The North Texas Tech Prep Consortium will sponsor a Career Safari - It's a Jungle Out There!for eighth-grade students at the Multi-Purpose Events Center on March 8, 2006. The career safari will offer students from eleven counties in the North Texas region twelve sessions on different careers available with each student attending six sessions. Vernon College Instructors and area business partners will conduct each session, telling about the training available at Vernon College and the daily activities involved in different careers, how school subjects relate to careers, and how to begin preparation for a future in each career. Careers discussed will be: Criminal Justice, Office Technology, Health Information Technology Nursing and Rehabilitation, Computer Aided Drafting and Design, Electronics/Electricity, Computer and Information Sciences, Automotive Technology, Fire Fighting/Emergency Medical Services, State Police, Forensic Science, and Manufacturing Technology/Welding. |
